Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has demonstrated what they say leadership is said to be by example.
Narendra Modi on Saturday, October 12, stormed a dirty beach in Chennai, Southern India where he was conducting informal talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In the video, Jupdateafrica.com sighted on his Twitter handle, he could be seen picking up plastic litter, used water bottles, and other waste from the beach and placing them in a bag.
He captioned his tweet; Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my ‘collection’ to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy.
India generates some 15 million kilograms (33 million pounds) of plastic waste every day, of which about 60% is collected and recycled.
